Airsoft guns are a fun and exciting way to enjoy the outdoors with friends, family and colleagues. These guns provide a safe alternative to traditional firearms and provide plenty of entertainment for all ages. These guns are also great for teaching kids about gun safety and responsibility.
They are usually made of hard plastic, but some models have
metal components. In short, airsoft is a replica of a traditional firearm.
The guns are powered by compressed air, which makes them much safer to operate than
a traditional gun. Airsoft also provides plenty of entertainment for role-playing and can be used in paintball matches.
1. Non Lethal Weapon with Low Velocity
Designed as non-lethal guns with low velocities, airsoft guns are not lethal. The caliber of either BB will be 6mm or 8mm, and the weight will vary from .12 to .45 grams. The velocity will range from 170 to 550fps (feet per second). BBs of .20 gram weight is limited to 300fps in Japan.
All children, no matter how big or small, have always wanted to be soldiers, and these guns provide opportunities that they can do with appropriate protective gear. Daisy BB guns, which have been available in the US for years, are lethal at close range, which is not the case with these guns.
2. Safety Equipment is Crucial
The safety of children needs to be considered by parents. It is important for children to wear pants, long sleeves, and gloves whenever they play. If hit at close range with a high velocity gun, BBs that pass through clothes will cause a red spot, but those that pass through bare skin can cause a blood blister.
Airsoft fields all over the world have a minimum engagement distance of 10 to 20 feet, and airsoft guns that shoot .20 gram BBs at over 400 fps must keep a 100-foot minimum distance.
Some people may find this intimidating, but in reality it is a minor issue, and you see adults wearing shorts and shirts with short sleeves all the time. Despite this, I personally do not let my children play in our backyard unless an adult is present to supervise them.
BB-shots in the eye are the biggest threat in airsoft. That is why full seal goggles are required for all paintball or airsoft fields, indoors or outdoors. It occurs because plastic BBs have low velocity and bounce off objects like stone, wood, etc. There cannot be enough emphasis placed on the danger facing your child's eyes, and this needs to be explained to him/her.
3. Gun Safety Rules:
This was an excellent way to teach gun safety, as there was a certain element of danger involved with these cheap airsoft guns. I know from experience that giving my children strict gun safety rules has made them more responsible, safe, and mature, even when they play a "safe game".
- Shooting should always be done
with eyewear.
- Toward a safe direction, always
point your gun.
- You should never look over your
shoulder.
- Until you are about to shoot
your gun, keep it in the safe.
- When you have located your target
and are ready to shoot, do not touch the trigger until your finger is on
the trigger.
- Assume that the gun is loaded
at all times.
- Airsoft guns should always be handled as if they were real weapons.
Following these rules will ensure that your fun will be safe and clean.
4. Realistic Resemblance to Real Guns
Aside from the joy of owning a respected pistol, airsoft players enjoy the experience of owning one. It should also have rails, handles, barrels and zero-point triggers. Airsoft guns let you do all the things you can with actual guns. The popularity of this sport is due to this reason.
Japan and England, for example, prohibit owning real guns, so cheap airsoft guns, similar to real steel guns, provide the closest thing to owning a real gun that people in these countries have access to.
Airsoft can be Enjoyable!
Here's what you and your child can do to have fun as you discuss the potential dangers. First, we used a spring pistol to shoot at targets. Afterwards, I went on to a shotgun, then a sniper rifle, and then I thought I could go target shooting and play airsoft with it.
Having fun and playing with a sniper rifle has been the best way to learn how to shoot a real gun and apply its shooting techniques. It's also fun to have small skirmishes around the backyard, which prepare you for your trip to an organized airsoft field.
